8515. NCC PROPOSED CLOSURE OF WARSOP FIRE STATION – Cllr. Allin reported that a new fire station is to be built at Ollerton in approximately 18 months then Warsop and Edwinstowe stations will close. The main concern is the response time of 10 minutes can not be achieved from Ollerton to Warsop. This would also apply to a unit coming from Mansfield to Warsop. Cllr. Crawford asked if Cllr. Allin could find out what the savings will be and the cost of the new build. Cllr. Allin will also invite the Chair of the fire authority to the next Parish Council meeting. A representative of Warsop fire team told members that Warsop deals with an average of 340 call outs per year and has 19 retained fire fighters. Members agreed that a campaign needs to be started with a leaflet drop to every household and businesses in the Parish, together with a petition. Tania suggested the February issue of the Warsop News would be the best resource to alert everyone in the Parish, although members thought that this wouldn’t be soon enough, she told them that with the Christmas break and by the time more information is obtained, the February edition would be out at the end of January. Cllr. Kerr suggested that they still get on with the leaflets and a petition and it was agreed that the Parish Council would pay for the printing, Councillors and the fire fighters offered to deliver them. The CHAD reporter will organise a photo-shoot outside the fire station on Friday at 10am with a feature in next week’s CHAD.

8516. TOWN HALL – With the Webcentre now being closed by 31st December, Carol and her staff will no longer be able to help with the daily running of the building. It was agreed to run it with volunteers until funding can be sourced to pay staff. Cllr. Kerr updated members with regard to the expression of interest for an application form to apply for the Lotteries Reaching Communities pot which has been rejected. He has organised a meeting with Carol and Sean Tizzard from the Lottery to discuss the reasons why it was not accepted and then it can be re-submitted with amends.
