MINUTES of the Emergency Parish Council meeting held on WEDNESDAY 24th FEBRUARY, 2010 in the Council Chamber, Town Hall, Market Warsop.

Present: Cllrs. S. Moody (Chairman), E. Hill (Vice-Chair), J. Kerr and P. Crawford, (Mansfield District Councillors), B. Smith, D. Priest, M. Kavanagh, and J. Allin (Nottinghamshire County Councillor).

Apologies: Cllrs. J. Heald and S. Sheilds

8365. DECLARATIONS BY MEMBERS OF PERSONAL AND PREJUDICIAL INTEREST - The Chairman drew the attention of Members to declare any personal or prejudicial interests related to agenda items.

8366. WARSOP TOWN HALL – A copy of a letter from Christina White in answer to our letter regarding the terms was given to each member. MDC are not prepared to revises the terms that we asked for and have given the PC an ultimatum, if a decision is not reached by the end of February the Town Hall will go up for sale. Discussion took place and it was agreed that there was no alternative but to accept the terms (with conditions) and The Chairman asked for a show of hands for the Parish Council to accept the term and purchase the Town Hall for £1.

7 for, 1 proxy vote for (Cllr. Heald) and 1 abstained (Cllr. Smith).

8367. RESOLVED – The Parish Council agreed to proceed with the sale of Warsop Town Hall.

8368. CARNIVAL – AGM to be held in the Black Market on Tuesday 9th March at 7pm – Everyone welcome. The Clerk added that the Mayor has been invited and a request for confirmation and clarification of what funding the Carnival Committee will receive through “Summer in the Streets”.

8369. NCC - Emergency Planning Meeting - The Clerk read out an invitation for all members to attend an emergency planning event on Saturday 13th March at 12noon – 4pm Cllrs. Moody, Allin and Kerr are to attend.

8371 . DATE OF NEXT MEETING – Annual Parish Meeting Monday 15th March, 2010. The Chair asked that this meeting be well publicised, he thanked everyone for attending and closed the meeting.
