7977. WARSOP ROAD SAFETY GROUP – Mr. Downie gave Roger Dodman’s apologies for not being able to attend and was concerned that it was minuted that the group had accepted the removal of the chicanes to be replaced by trial plateaus and to his knowledge that was not the case. The Chairman was adamant that this was agreed at the last meeting and was concerned that if the chicanes are not removed soon a serious accident will occur and in the interest of the public he would have to agreed to take them out even if plateaus are put in their place, he agreed that no-one wants them to be replaced with anything but whilst NCC have the monies to spend in Warsop we should take what we can for now but continue the fight to get all the humps removed. Otherwise, the monies would be spent elsewhere and it could be another 2/3 years before any money is available again for Warsop. He suggested another meeting to clarify the position and dates for when work will commence.
