The Chairman opened by paying a tribute to the Clerk, Tania Barlow for all
her hard work in passing the AQA Certificate in Local Council Administration
and for her continuing hard work with the Warsop & District News which
has gone from strength to strength.
Meden Baths - The Warsop & District News was instrumental in helping the Parish Council with the questionnaire, the response was not as good as expected but those who did respond responded well. All the schools sent letters of support. John Mann MP has now joined our campaign to save our swimming pool and the fight will continue.
Warsop & District News - Since Tania took on a new designer, Karen Searson of Design2 Studio, the paper has improved and looks much brighter.
Crime & Disorder - The Chairman paid tribute to our Neighbourhood Wardens, Mac and Mark who are doing an excellent job. He welcomed the new PCSO Dee Eyre and said the Parish Council will continue to work with Insp. Sam Wilson to get more police in the Parish.
Highways - The Parish Council will continue to get better services in the Parish and the Chairman thanked the ex-County Councillor, B. Smith for all his hard work and to the new County Councillor J. Allin for his input and gaining funding through the Building Better Communities Initiative.
War Memorial - Earlier this year the Parish Council secured funding from BBC to have a new path and hardstanding at the Memorial. The Cenotaph has finally been cleaned. Thanks to WAVES for agreeing to do it free of charge. The Parish Council have secured funding through BBC for the repairs to the wall and new paving slabs, the work should commence soon.
The Annual Three Parishes Walks - A successful event again this year, with many groups benefiting their charities. Tania is already organising the walks for this year which will be held on Sunday 14th May.
Warsop Carnival - Another successful event, with a new committee this year. The Parish Council will continue to support the Carnival financially and will help out where they can. The Warsop News will support them with regular articles and the Parish Council is looking forward to this year's event which will be held on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th July.
The Parish Council will continue financial support for the Carnival, 3 Parishes Annual Sponsored Walks, Christmas Lights, The Band for Remembrance Sunday and giving donations to various groups who work to benefit our community.
The Parish Council will also continue to work in partnership with Meden Valley
Making Places to get the best development for the needs of the community,
for the both the Royal Estate and Warsop Vale.
The were no presentations to be made, Rosemary White from Meden Valley Making
